dear all,
UCP 600 article 24 says
iii. A rail or inland waterway transport document will be accepted as an original whether marked as an original or not.
what is the importance of this clause while we know that a document need not to be marked original to be an original?

Hi Berry,
I would like to share the explanation from Mr. Gary Collyer about this issue:
'' The wording reflects that it is not international standard banking practice for such documents to be marked original and, in some cases, the document appears to be a copy. and,
In nearly all cases, a rail waybill or inland waterway document are issued in a duplicate or copy form. This is why the UCP is worded in this respect."
.
So i understand that if a copy of doc presented without marking “original” we also treat it as original copy.
