Friends,
I have an air waybill in hand which shows at the top right corner "original 1 2 and 3 carry equal status. " we have been presented with 3rd original for shipper. I would like to know whether this clause will cause a discrepanty.

from TACT IATA

Hi Pal,
this in an abstract from TACT by IATA(Old copy of October 2003)

"The three AWB originals(part 1,2 and 3) bear on the reverse the conditions of contract and all have the same validity. The varios parts of the AWB shall be disposed of as follows:
Original 3, normally blue(for Shipper) to be given to the shipper and to serve as: a)proofof receipt of the goods for shipment, b)documentary evidence of carrier's and shipper's signature to the contract of carriage.

Original 2, normally green(for issuing carrier).....for use of carrier

Original 1, normally pink (for consignee)......to accompany the goods to final destination.
----------------
So, being the AWB a not negotiable document, original 3 is only necessary, as it avoid that shipper could modify goods delivery instrctions.

Dear,
add some thing with Picant.
Read article 6 of the following link:
http://www.iata.org/NR/ContentConnector ... warsaw.pdf
.
whenever original for shipper or consignor copy is presented, it will satisfied the requirement, so no discrepant.
Because after issuing third original, the shipper can not change the destination of cargo.
