Hi all,
Could you advise the meaning of the wording which I found on a transport document:
' Signed on behalf of the carrier
(signature)
by AAA (AAA is a name of a company)
(Carrier not identified elsewhere)
.
Could it be possible that this wording to convey the meaning that carrier is AAA?

CARRIER OR ITS AGENT
In my opinion,it could not be concluded that AAA was the carrier.It could be either the carrier or its agent.No person was identified as the carrier.This could be a discrepancy.

i would consider it as discrepant. on behalf of has similar effect of 'as agent of' and is used when someone signs for another legal person. therefore it is clear that aaa is signing for the carrier. however since carrier is not identified, i would consider it as discrepant.
