Hi,

In my opinion, the reason may be to provide flexibility to holder/consignor/consignee to resale of goods and change ownership via endorsement during marine transport which takes probably longer time than air or road transport.

Other comments will be appreciated

Dear,
As Bill of Lading is the legitimate docs that has negotiability like financial docs (e,g. Bill of Exchange, Cheque) but AWB / TR has no such legal obligation and hence Bill of lading called Document of Title.
