A credit calls for combined signed commercial invoice and Certificate of Origin. The commercial invoice presented has been signed and the Certificate of Origin portion in the commercial invoice is not signed. Is this document acceptable ?

appreciate your comments. TQ

it is difficult to comment without having seen the document. there is no rule where to sign within a document. in most cases it would be acceptable i think.

Hi hanifmb,

Please refer to ISBP under General Principles - Certifications and declarations 8). You have the right answer.

Cheers

The document is acceptable - ISBP para 8 stated that 'if the certification or declaration appears in another document which is SIGNED AND DATED, any certification or declaration appearing on that document does not require a separate signature or date..."

Do note that the invoice must be "DATED" to qualify for this para as under ISBP para 181 - a certificate of origin must be dated.
