port of loading. discrep??

one B/L , under 'port of lading field , failed to indicate the actual loading port as per L/C, but in the filed ''on board notation'', the B/L stated that the port of loading , vessel's name and on board date. is it a discrep?

Hi, Vivian,

In ISBP they say that the port of loading should appear on the "port of loading" field, but as well it may instead be stated in the field headed "place of receipt" or the like, if it's clear that goods were transported from that place of receipt by vessel, and provided there is an on board notation evidencing that the goods were loaded on that vessel at that port stated under "place of receipt" or like term.
Does the port of loading name appear in the field "place of receipt", too, or alike field?

Refer to UCP article 20 (a) iii - if the 'on board notation' showed the port of loading as per LC with date and vessel name, that's fulfill the requirement as per UCP and hence not a discrepant.
