Partial confirmation...

Post by VASU » Sun Mar 14, 2010 8:14 pm

LC is partially confirmed by Advicing bank. And correspondingly, liability is tracked for the partially conformed against issuing bank.
When Bills are submitted for full LC amount, Will the liability for bills against issuing bank be tracked for partially confirmed amount or complete bill amount?

Appreciate quick and prompt response on this.

Partial confirmation?

I think the Confirmarion should not be partially confirmation, except for the amendment for increasing the LC amount and Confirming Bank not agree to add confirmation to that amendment.
Anyway, the liability for bills against issuing bank should be tracked for complete bill amount?

it depends on how much did you honor. if you honored the full value, then liability should be for full
