MT202

Post by fionawang » Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:24 pm

There is one client Would received the payment of L/C and pay their supplier by T/T on the same day. To ensure the MT202 could received earlier, we would like the issuing bank send the MT202 one or two days earlier with the value date still be the maturity date of L/C. Do you think there is any problem with it?
Thanks for your answer.fionawang

how long will a payment execution will take depends on the accuracy of the information that you provide. using CHIP or IBAN no. usually helps to speed up the process.

yes, you may issue MT 202 with future value date. i c no problem in this. there are some related URR regulations which you may want to consider

Hello

In order to respond correctly to your query, who is actually paying? if it is the issuing bank, there is no reason why they may not send MT202 before the value date but URR725 would only apply if there is a reimbursing bank who is making the payment.

Thanks Jackie
