Dear Expert,
May I ask for your opinion on the following:
Query 2
Pre-carriage by: ABC
Place of Receipt: Shanghai, China
Ocean Vessel: DEF
Port of Loading: Shanghai
Port of discharge: New York, USA
Place of delivery: New Jersey, USA
Insurance policy presented covering all risks
showing Ocean Vessel name DEF only, without showing Pre-carriage vessel: ABC,
is it a discrepancy?
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards,
ucp 800
without showing Pre-carriage vessel: ABC

Insurance not showing precarriage vessel
Hi
In my opinion, insurance need not indicate the precarriage vessel but it should definitely cover the mother vessel as stated in the onboard notation of the BL because there is no clause in UCP which requires the insurance document to state the precarriage vessel.
Would appreciate the views from others.
