Dear All,
Pls advice me whether it is mandatory to mention documentary credit number in all the documents stipulates in LC whether LC doesnt show any notation to mention it.

Documentary Credit number
Documentary Credit number is not a mandatory requirement on the documents, unless stated in the LC.
Please take in mind that there should always be a linkage between the documents and the fact of stating the documentary credit number can be used as a form of linkage.
The articles on transport documents, insurance document and commercial invoice also don't mention a requirement that documentary Credit number should be stated.ISBP art. 14f
If a credit requires presentation of a document other than a transport document, insurance document or commercial invoice, without stipulating by whom the document is to be issued or ITS DATA CONTENT, banks will accept the document as presented if its content appears to fulfil the function of the required coument and otherwise complies with sub-article 14d.
