Clean Bill of lading.
Hi,
As per ISBP, If bill of lading states " packaging is not sufficient for the sea journey" ,
then the B/L is considered as claused B/L.
Document bearing this clause is not acceptable, when the LC requirement is CLEAN B/L.
In case, the B/L states " packaging may not be sufficient for the sea journey ",
still, B/L is acceptanble as CLEAN B/L., because it does not evidence that packing is not sufficient, it only states that it " may ", (i.e. not sure), so its acceptable.

Clean transport dox
"Packaging IS NOT sufficient for the journey" in it's face stated the defective of the Goods and is not acceptable regardless of whether the credit called for CLEAN transport document or not and should be quoted as discrepancy.
