Dear All,
An L/C subject to UCP 600 specifies:
A multimodal transport bill of lading;
Place of receipt: Macau;
Place of final destination: West Orange, New Jersey.
The multimodal transport bill of lading shows:
Place of Receipt
Macau
Vessel Name
Casino Royale
Port of Loading
Hong Kong
Intended Vessel Name
Chopsticks
Port of Discharge
New York
Place of Final Destination
West Orange, New Jersey
The issuing bank refuses payment due to one discrepancy:
“An on board notation is required because Chopsticks is an intended vessel only.”
Is this discrepancy valid?
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards,
ucp 800
