how to identify thebeneficiary of the credit

Post by berry » Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:07 am

deal all,

UCP allows presentation from any party. at the same time bank is not responsible to inquire into the identity of the beneficiary. do you believe that such rules keep the door wide open for a fraud drawing?

Hi !

That's why most L/Cs require the presentation of documents must be made through bankers. The opening bank may count on the bankers to identify the capacity of beneficiary. But it still depends on the account opening procedures established by the bankers.
