LC Requires Certificate From Lloyds Or Equivalent Classification Society

Post by bdpnikita » Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:34 pm

Dear all,

The export LC 46A: states a clause 'CERTIFICATE FROM LLOYDS OR EQUIVALENT CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY TO THE EFFECT THAT THE CARRYING VESSEL IS A REGULAR LINER, SEAWORTHY AND NOT MORE THAN 20 YEARS OLD.'
I have asked the customer to amend this clause, however the Issuing Bank is not willing to amend the same.
Can anyone tell me how can I get this certificate issued? This is the first time I've across a documents to be issued from such entity.

Thank you,
Nikita Albert

It should quite easy in fact. Check this list. Find your closest office and ask for a certificate with the detail of your vessel.
