Post by rayuducnu » Sat Jun 27, 2015 6:28 pm

Hi There,

Good Day to Everybody...

We received an LC from our customer with partial shipment allowed in "Two Lots only". but we shipped total goods in one vessel and liner issues Single "B/L".

Now my confusion is " Shall we take Single B/L or Need to take Two B/Ls"

My Buyer is looking to reject our documents due to price fall at destination

Kindly advise early reply is very helpful to us...

When partial shipment is allowed, beneficiary can make any number of shiment. However in this case the rule is modified and maximum two shipment can be made. From the query it appears the intention is not to ask for shipment in two lot. So one Bill of lading should not cause any problem. See ICC opinion TA671 for further guidance.
