Preprint Form Of Government Documents Issued In Both Languag

Post by narisa » Sat Feb 14, 2015 7:53 pm

Dear all

In case L/C stipulated "docs must be issued in English language"
If the docs present show letterhead (issuer name) in local language and English or
other cases in preprint form of government documents sometimes issued in both
language (English and local) is it discrepancy?

Thanks in advance

ISBP 745 A21

Hi Pal,

Languages(in a l/c under UCP 600) are treated in ISBP 745 para A 21:
If required in English, as in your case, this language will override the other language.
Two recent experiences:
-stamp of issuer in local language(Thailand) signed on qualification "as beneficiary" was OK
.
.stamp of issuer in local language(Thailand) signed as "Engineering and Maintenance Division Manager" caused some problems
already settled but with many messages and losing time.

Other comments appreciated

dear,

based on new isbp745 A21 especially e ''the name of a person or entity, any stamps, legalization,
endorsements or similar, and the pre-printed text shown on a document, such as, but not limited to,
field headings, may be in a language other than that required in the credit''
.
accroding to your case and situation, there is no discrepancy.
.
regards

Hi Pals,

the required document was "commissioning and acceptance certificate of the plant"issued by applicant, bearing a thai name,
and signed as previous indicated. If signed by xxx qualified as applicant it could be accepted, even if indicated in thai language.
Other comments appreciated, I cited these situations as true cases.
