What's The Definition Of "Clean Document"

Post by schang515 » Mon Oct 13, 2014 10:10 pm

What's the definition of "clean documents"? Often this is a question from the negotiating bank after docs have been presented: are the docs clean? Does this mean free of discrepancies or something else?

Thanks in advance

Hi Pal,

Definition of "clean" is in art 27 UCP 600, referring to transport document and concrning the status of goods or packing.
In your case we have to indicate compliant documents, if referred to all documents required.

They are wanting to know if the documents were "clean" meaning they were free from discrepancies.
