Received For Shipment Date Is Earlier Than Latest Shipment D

Post by amani » Thu Oct 02, 2014 2:12 pm

If lastest date of shipment is 30.9.14 in the lc
date of issue of b/l is 01.10.14 and received for shipment date is 29.09.14
Is this a discrepancy?

On board missing?

Post by picant » Sun Oct 12, 2014 4:24 pm

Hi Pal,

a bill of lading may be issued later than the on board notation, but on board notation must be within the term indicated in the l/c
Received for shipment, except when expressly required, has not meaning.
Ciao

Can you pls clarify in which cases the on board date can be later than the b/l date. I know that it can be, but need more clarifications from experts :)

Hi,

The date of BL means date of issue of BL. The goods may be shipped before and later BL is issued. This is not a rare case.
