Unless the LC prohibits, a packing list is acceptable even if presented by a third party and this would be the case if the beneficiary is not the shipper, or if the packing list relates to a presentation under a transferred LC, or if it relates to a separate contract between the beneficiary and the issuer of the packing list.

What M5 is indicating is that if such a packing list is issued by a third party it is likely to contain details of invoice number date and shipment routing relating to the contract between the LC beneficiary and the issuer of the packing list. Therefore, any inconsistencies between the invoice number, date and shipment routing on such packing list when compared to the benefciary's own invoice should not be considered as discrepancies.
