I would also add ensure that you read the questions carefully as they may be ambiguous. A good tip which I found helped me was that if I was unsure about that question, instead of wasting time, I wrote the question number on a piece of paper and came back to them at the end. This way I ensured that I answered all questions and was successful. Good luck to you all.

Manage your time by giving more time to test B or the simulation cases. let say give 1 hr to multiple choice questions and 2 hrs to cases . (or 50-50 at least)You must finish answering the cases but also try your best to finish the multiple choice, because its not necessary that you answer all, 80% correct answer is ok. if you are not sure with your answer in tets A, try to guess that item and put identifying marks on that questions so you may return if you still have time. GOOD LUCK!!! Im a CDCS 2008.

cdcs exam

Postby gpsapitan on Sat Feb 21, 2009 12:31 am

Managing your time is very important. The first time i took the exam, i finished the Test A and probably got high marks, however, i wasnt able to finish test B which is the simulation/basket case questions. I got 75% overall but i FAILED!!!, Passing is only 68% that time, so SAD!@#$^&*&*()!!!?? This is the reason why we are reiterating here Time Management.

Multiple questions are very tricky, like in their 2008 CDCS sample test. alternately their are giving one easy after a hard tricky multiple choice questions in which will eat more of your time and will keep you more than 10 minutes in only one question. be careful with unnecessary data(s) in any questions. focus on the questions not on given informations.

Hope to see your names in CDCS Registry By June 2009. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

CDCS Exam - Time Management

Postby mando@vsnl.net on Sat Feb 21, 2009 1:13 pm

Dear All Friends,

What about Pre-testing Questions i.e. 15 Questions?

For Part A - 1.5 Hrs. It means I have to answers in 90 Minutes for 83 Questions.i.e. - 1.084 min/Questions.

For Part B - 1.5 Hrs. it means I have to answers in 90 minutes for 22 Questions. i.e. 4.090 Minute per Questions.

Could you advise Time management strategy for getting 70 % marks in CDCS Exam?.

Thanking you

There are no 15 questions as pre testing Questions. What i know this 15 questions will be included anywhere in the tests (A or B) as a bonus points.

For Part A - You are not required to finished Test A, If you are not sure , make a guess, and return if you still have time. Dont waste your time trying to answer it. . as i posted before, forget about unneccessary datas. e.g. An LC is issued on 31 dec 2008 for USD100,000.00 , Partial shipment allowed, Latest Shipment date on or before 15 Jan 2009. What is the appropriate date when the seller can ship the goods?

Forget about LC issuance date, Partial shipment allowed. Just focus on Latest shipment date.

For PART B - Make sure to Finish this test, if 1.5 hrs have passed and you are still in PART A, Leave it and proceed to PART B

Take note: very important:
Be careful if you are leaving PART A, because ,really these people are very good. Some Questions there, are simulation cases which is part of TEST B, however since it is multiple choice format, you will be fooled that this is still part of TEST A, but it is not. SO DONT LEAVE IT BEHIND , YOU MUST ANSWER IT. If the format of the question is like giving you a scenario, and will give you 5 questions out of that scenario, then that is part of TEST B. SO BE CAREFUL.

Good LUCK

Postby ldt5205 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 9:25 am

Finishing part B first is a good idea, but part B is more difficult than Part A.
Maybe you will feel distressed when having finished part B.That is a problem you have to face.
Any way ,best reguards to everyone who attend to this year's exam.

CDCS - Apr. 2010 Exam - Simulation Exercises - Important Upd

Postby ybattia on Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:57 pm

Dear all,

Please note that Section B of the examination has changed and will have the following format change to the simulation exercises that appear in section B of the exam;

* Candidates will be required to identify five correct discrepancies / irregularities from a checklist of a possible 10 instead of a possible 15 which has been the format for previous exams.

Please be guided accordingly,
Good luck,

CDCS EXAM

Postby cparial on Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:42 am

DEAR ALL,

My observations by appearing 2009 CDCS:

1. YOU MUST HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT YOU CAN PASS CDCS.

2. A good number of questions were there from ISP. We had little experience on ISP as we use to practice URDG. In part B also there were ISP related simulations. So, ISP should be given due importance.

3. By checking as many docs as possible (in our work place) will help us to increase confidence in simulations exercises in part B and save time. if possible, ISP related documents should also be checked even though I had none.

4. Time management is also important as part-B is little bit tricky

5. You have to get 70% in both the parts to pass the exam.

Thanks and well wishes well in advance..
